Deming, NM has been one of our favorite small towns that we have to stop by every chance we get. There are all of life’s basic necessities, many great restaurants, cheap rent and the accessibility to big cities.

Deming is 2 hours away from El Paso, Texas, 3 hours away from Tucson, Arizona and about 20 minutes away from Mexico. Yep, that’s Mexico the country.

Kate Learned How to Cross-Reference with Yelp:

For ages, I have used Yelp for finding good food in the area I am in. On this trip, she decided to try it and great food came out of it for sure.

Hands Down Our Favorite Restaurant in the Area:

Adobe Deli is one of those eclectic restaurants that you find and later on appreciate the thought that has been was originally a schoolhouse that burned down and was restored creating this one of a kind restaurant.

Once you walk in you are greeted by taxidermy all around and you get an eerie feeling, there has been many articles and studies that back up the fact that Adobe Deli is haunted. That alone adds more to the experience of the place. You should try it when in Deming for sure.

Any restaurant with taxidermy is a good one!

Liquor Aisle Limited Hours on Sunday:

Sunday we felt like sitting outside and having a drink while talking, so we decided to go to a nearby Walmart to get some local wine. To our surprise the wine aisle had a chain across it and an Hours of Operations sign; we have never seen that.

After asking the clerk, he stated that they have limited hours in which they can sell alcohol on Sundays, in short, if you’re in need of adult beverages, grab them before the weekend.

This was a first for us!

Bought a DVD:

Our first stop in Deming was very windy and the weather was crappy. So on our trip to Walmart, we bought the last DVD player they had, on our way out, we stopped at RedBox and got a few movies to watch.
